Thesis 10: Conformity of Satan vs. Unity of Jesus Christ

This is Thesis 10 of the “End Times 95 Theses by The Two Witnesses of Revelation", a parallel of the work Martin Luther did hundreds of years ago. This thesis will expose how conformity killed the church, especially during Covid. It will also explain the difference between the spirit of conformity of Satan and the spirit of unity of Christ. Introduction - Covid Conformity

The word conformity immediately brings to mind the recent events of Covid, regarding how millions participated in disastrous protocols out of fear and conformity.

Conformity is one of the most powerful weapons of Satan, and in this thesis, I will examine how a spirit of conformity has killed the church, and also, how a spirit of conformity is not to be confused with a spirit of unity in Jesus Christ.

Why is conformity so powerful? That answer is simple really. When looking at why conformity is such a powerful tool, we must first explore two key words: safety and belonging.

Psychology - What It Gets Right

When people do not follow Jesus Christ, then they have no other choice but then to follow the world. The Bible clearly states one is either for or against Jesus Christ - there is no fence sitting, no in between. One is either for Jesus Christ or for the world, so if one is not fully following Jesus Christ, by default, whether they realize it or not, they are following the world.

As a result, for the world, psychology is a good tool to measure the minds of the populace. It has flaws, but it can give us a basic understanding of the ways of the world. It explains problems not through a spiritual lens, but through the sense of the mind and mind only.

Of course, when we start following Jesus Christ, the ways and understandings of the world are not as important. In the past, I was once bound by psychology through anxiety, depression, obsessive habits, etc. However, Christ freed me from all that - in many ways, supernaturally, and none of this can be understood through psychology. Demons, strongholds, witchcraft, etc. - that is a study of the supernatural that the world largely refuses to take into account. In fact, Jesus tells us directly to be in the world - not of it.

Since most are followers of this world, yes, even many reading, then we can look to psychology to understand. If one wants to escape this worldly understanding, it is good, first to expose it. In order to be free, sometimes, we must first understand the tools of Satan.

So, looking at the world, we can first start with “Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs”:

According to the above chart, these are the needs of the world, with no mention of God, unless that is included in self-actualization. Otherwise, humans desperately need their physiological needs, safety, and a sense of belonging, and unfortunately, Satan uses this against them.

The Need to Belong to the World and Safety

The two most powerful tools Satan has been using since the beginning of time is the need for humans to want to belong and feel safe. Though, on some level, these needs are important, they were used as tools by Satan to help him conquer the world through the crown of Corona, and they even became Covid mantras. Do you all remember these?

Stay home, stay safe (need for safety)
We are in this together (need to belong)

Interestingly, the Bible counters these words in many ways. For one, the Bible tells us not to worry about belonging to the world, and it also tells us not to worry about anything, really, even death! We are not to be anxious about our lives in any way, which I have recently written about here.

In other words, we must go against what the flesh says (you must belong, you must worry) and we must counter the world with the power of Jesus Christ.

This is not easy, and unfortunately, the church itself has been destroyed by Satan’s draw of conformity.

Conformity has killed the church.

When you walk into any major church today, it’s hard to separate it from the world - the way people dress, the music you hear, and even some of the sermons - they are simply worldly.

Sure, there may be some degrees of separation, but today, there is almost nothing distinguishing or prominent about most Christians. They say, “I love Jesus” but continue to participate in nearly all worldly pursuits.

In fact, many churches have become full of cliques like any modern high school, and the need to belong, be praised, and be superior play a powerful force in how the modern church operates. This is because the church has bowed down to conformity in Satan and not unity in Christ, which we will discuss in a moment.

The psychological need to belong is one of the most powerful elements Satan uses against Christians - and really, anyone.

Going back to Covid, churches bought into the Covid conformity greatly, especially with vaccines. Many churches even promoted the dangerous abomination!

When Christians should have been standing up against this conformity, they gave in. They showed who they loved more, the world or God - and they chose the God of this world - Satan.

They closed down their churches, they promoted vaccines, and they even ostracized those who did not take them. Our own Christian family members stood against us, and most of us were left humiliated and ridiculed.

There are few churches left that are honoring God, and this is because they have chosen the conformity over the world and forgotten their first love.

Conformity of Satan vs. Unity of Christ

Unfortunately, people in the church have confused conformity and unity, and these are not the same thematic elements.

Again, conformity is based on the need to belong, feel safe, and other worldly factors. So, then, what is unity in the church and how do we achieve it?

Well, unity can only be accomplished through Jesus Christ. The problem with the church is that if any facet of it is serving the world, then, the unity becomes conformity. During Covid, for example, the preachers and ministers decided that serving the world was more important, and the people followed. The church must serve Jesus Christ, and at times, stand against the world.

In return, its followers should then unify. This is not conformity. This is everyone in a church working together for the larger purpose of establishing God’s kingdom. Let’s look at some aspects of unity in the church.

Avoid petty quarrels/foolish and stupid arguments - While there is a time and place for debate, this is one of the biggest problems of the modern church. People argue about everything, and the modern church is completely divided. I wanted to expand upon this with a testimony from our real life ministry.

Whenever I go onto any Christian groups online, they are constantly divided. There is tension. There is no peace or joy.

In the ministry Witness 1 and I have established, we have removed the spirit of conflict as much as humanly possible. We do allow debate on important issues; however, we immediately remove people causing petty and unnecessary conflict.

It’s a fine line, and the leaders in a church have to be aware and working with Jesus Christ to ensure they are creating a group of unity - not conformity.

We have taught our leaders and ministry members about the appropriate way to debate, argue, and bring up disputes. Honestly, true conflict is rare. It happens, but it is often in a Socratic way, and it is with love. We have modeled and trained our ministry members on how to do this.

My best example is a recent debate in our real life ministry. Someone posted that the best way to give money was directly to the poor. Another disagreed in a respectful way. I ended the debate by quoting Scripture - give how and what is in your heart. No one attacked anyone, and we all moved on with our day. In the end, one member may still think giving directly to the poor is best, and the other may still think tithing to the church is best. For me, I think either is fine, and I think people should tithe to us so we can give directly to the poor : ) Either way, it was not a salvation issue, which we will get into in a moment, and the conflict was addressed appropriately with love.

However, there are times when people just want to fight. They have a spirit of conflict and aggression, and this counters the peace and unity of Jesus Christ. Sometimes we just directly remove these members. We do give them warnings, but if they continue, the Holy Spirit tells me they are trying to break up the unity of our group.

Yes, there are agents of Satan sent to do just this, and they are all over the internet. They come into ministries to cause petty quarrels and debates. Witness 1 and I simply do not allow it. Here is the question we always ask, “Is it a salvation issue?”

If it is not a salvation issue, we tend to let minor disagreements in opinion go. We agree to disagree. However, if it is a salvation issue, we may do a sermon on it, post something in the group, or even rebuke people if needed.

In order to avoid petty quarrels, members of a ministry must drop their pride. Some are just obsessed with the need to be right, which comes in the way of the love of Christ and promotes a Pharisee-esque spirit. As I have written, love is the law.

We understand, too, that there may be small disagreements with readers, and we ask readers try to avoid petty quarrels. For example, it is possible some may disagree about certain components of the mark of the beast, the timeline of Revelation, or what they believe about the anti-Christ. I believe some of these things are minor, and they should not divide us. At the same time, they could become salvation issues in the future. What if Trump is the anti-Christ and understanding that becomes a part of your salvation? Well, that is when we will have to rebuke. Time will tell soon!

One salvation issue is people following the Old Law, as people following it could lead them to Hell. We debate this all of the time and rebuke people who think we seriously still need to follow the works of the Old Testament to be saved. We, of course, have written on that here.

So, in order to maintain unity in a church, we must pick and choose which arguments are worth it, and I proclaim the majority are not. There are many Scriptures on this. For one, it is not worth our time to argue with fools:

Proverbs 26:4-5 New Living Translation (NLT)
Don't answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are. Be sure to answer the foolish arguments of fools, or they will become wise in their own estimation.

When we waste our time arguing with fools, we become fools. Witness 1 and I do not argue with everyone - it just isn’t worth our time. Also, let us remember not to cast pearls before swine.

2. Understand your role in the ministry - One major problem in the church today is that everyone thinks they are called to be a teacher or leader, and that has really hurt the unity of the church. You see tons of divided ministries online because no one wants to share the glory with others. They want to be the leader, have no fellowship, and give no role to others. I have reached out to so many online ministries, and almost nobody replies to me, wants to work with me, or even lets me speak. They always disable their comments, too. So, let me testify with what we do in this ministry.

There is a reason we welcome reader content! It is so important. Please, do not ever think you are bothering us by sending your content to us. Do not worry about spelling, grammar, or perfection. We love hearing from readers.

Everyone has a part to play in the church. If you are not a leader or teacher, that does not mean you are not important. I really always have loved these words from Paul:

One Body but Many Parts

12 There is one body, but it has many parts. But all its many parts make up one body. It is the same with Christ. 13 We were all baptized by one Holy Spirit. And so we are formed into one body. It didn’t matter whether we were Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free people. We were all given the same Spirit to drink. 14 So the body is not made up of just one part. It has many parts.

15 Suppose the foot says, “I am not a hand. So I don’t belong to the body.” By saying this, it cannot stop being part of the body. 16 And suppose the ear says, “I am not an eye. So I don’t belong to the body.” By saying this, it cannot stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, how could it hear? If the whole body were an ear, how could it smell? 18 God has placed each part in the body just as he wanted it to be. 19 If all the parts were the same, how could there be a body? 20 As it is, there are many parts. But there is only one body.

21 The eye can’t say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you!” 22 In fact, it is just the opposite. The parts of the body that seem to be weaker are the ones we can’t do without. 23 The parts that we think are less important we treat with special honor. The private parts aren’t shown. But they are treated with special care. 24 The parts that can be shown don’t need special care. But God has put together all the parts of the body. And he has given more honor to the parts that didn’t have any. 25 In that way, the parts of the body will not take sides. All of them will take care of one another. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it. If one part is honored, every part shares in its joy.

27 You are the body of Christ. Each one of you is a part of it.

No one is “too good” to be any part. Every part is important.

The problem is that some of you have a part to play, but you haven’t started playing it yet. Another problem is that some want to be leaders and teachers for their own vain conceit.

For our ministry, we need support, helpers, contributors, testimonies, tithers, etc. We need you all! Ask God, “How can I help these two witnesses?”

In return, we are doing everything we can to keep this website running, active, and helpful. It really does take a lot of work, and we take it seriously. I will note, however, that I have become so bored with the internet that now I am just generating all of this content. I seriously feel like it is all so boring that I produce what I would want to read at this point! Still, this ministry is ultimately for Jesus Christ, and we appreciate your help in running it. Everyone has a role to play.

3. The Electrical Machine of God - For the next part of this post, I am referencing the sermon above, so I wanted to give A.W. Tozer credit. We can compare the unity of Christ to an electrical system. If even one part is not plugged in, not functioning, or off in some way, the system will not turn on. It will not function properly, even if everything else is plugged in and in place.

Suppose you are trying to operate your computer, but one of the essential electric cords is not plugged in - in total unity. No matter how powerful the other cords individually are, it doesn’t matter. The power won’t come to the whole operating system if even one cord is out of place or not functioning. Therefore, in order for the Holy Spirit (power) to come to us all, we first need to be unified. Unity comes first - then the Holy Spirit will come into us all.

The power and energy of any ministry comes from perfect unity of its leaders and members. When leaders are haughty, it cannot function right. When members are lazy, it cannot function right.

The perfect ministry of Christ must have beautiful unity.

Now, one may be thinking, “Well, can one ever disagree even if in unity?”

Yes, I think so - as long as it is done with the intention of love and true improvement of the ministry - not in a spirit of conflict or aggression.

Another aspect of unity in the ministry is helping and supporting each other. If you read the book of Acts, the entire ministry was about taking care of each other - making sure all needs are met.

We must help members when they are down, sinning, or just not fully serving Christ. However, we must also remove members who just refuse to function in unity. There are times that needs to happen, and the church has stopped rebuking members who need to be rebuked. They have allowed Satan’s agents to infiltrate the churches and cause division for fear of offending people. There is a time for rebuking with love, after all.

So, the well-oiled and powered machine is the perfect metaphor, I think, for what Jesus Christ is calling us to be like as a ministry.

We have to fix and repair the broken pieces, and when all of us are in unity, then we will be powerful. We have to unite first, so will you join us in our cause?

Going back to the main point of this post, the dead church has replaced unity with conformity. They will function in the world, but they are not operating under the power of Jesus Christ.

Soon, these ministries will fall in many ways. I believe this ministry will remain standing until the end as one of the last true churches. It does not matter if we can meet together in a building - our bodies are the temple of Jesus Christ.

Conclusion - Scripture

To wrap up, let’s review some key Scripture to understand how we are to find unify in Jesus Christ:

Romans 14:19 - Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
Phillippians 2:2 - then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind.
Philippians 2:3 - Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
Matthew 18:19-20 - 19 - “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Ephesians 4:11-13 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

In the end times, the church is more divided than ever before in history. This is partly because people have lost a spirit of humility.

One thing I noticed about people is that they often come into a ministry with a spirit of “I know it all and I can do better.”

Now that Witness 1 have been running this ministry for almost two years, one thing we have learned is everyone is ready to critique, but few are willing to uplift.

Here is my message, “If you think you can do better, start your own ministry." Seriously!

Anybody can go online, start their own, and gain their own following.

Chances are, if you do, you we will see why we are the way we are, and why we operate the way we operate.

Soon, more disasters will be coming upon us. Will we be united with the world, or will we be united with the true ministry of Jesus Christ in the end times? I believe our ministry holds the key.
