It's Not Hardcore, It's ChristCore: The Aesthetic Antidote to Apathy
In the modern day, people don’t seem to have much to live for. Glory days of crusades and conquerors seem to be long past, and millions of people languish worldwide in solitude, despair, and meaninglessness. The doldrums and apathy of the digital age seep in through the cracks we so desperately try to patch with cheap dopamine fixes and superficial, transient satisfaction.
“Why won’t it stop?” “What does it all mean?” “Why am I here?”
Echoing, echoing.
Instead of renowned heroes, our own purposeful, self-driven lives, wars of actual glory and meaning, or even leaders that can put together a coherent sentence, we get conniving, disingenuous, evil bastards like Trump and our other fake, controlled opposition "leaders" - literally psycopathic, psychotic maniacs who take pleasure in terrorizing the world. A slew of false-light idiots like Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and Jordan Peterson act as siren songs of disinformation, dim will-’o-the wisps lingering in the swampy air offering just enough hope and truth to lure the unwary traveler to his death.
Beware the siren song of the false prophets, wolves in sheep’s clothing, and controlled opposition! Listen not to the soothing lullabies of the news, the carefully curated techbro garden spaces online, or even the dimwitted fellow travelers you may meet on your journey. Truth has become a rare commodity indeed, and he who possesses it can attract the most unwanted type of attention. “A man’s house is his castle”, the domesticated, stupefied, servile boomer pitifully squeaks out in between absorbing whatever dogma his only true love, the television, is spewing out.
Of course, it hasn’t been true for a long time. The government has metastasized into a fearsome beast, a true dragon, willing to slaughter innocent villages of civilians in order to acquire just one more gold coin for the stash. A long conspiracy - and it’s all about the gold, baby. We’re ruled by cynics with no precedent, unscrupulous gangsters with the moral life of an anemone.
Our forefathers chose a servile, domesticated society, and damned us to a permanent kindergarten-state. From day one in school we are forced to endure the shrieking indoctrination of the state’s truth, hand-delivered to us by bored, psychotic women with fake jobs and their feminized male sycophants. From there, we are forced to kneel subserviently before the God of This World - Satan - and his little-g god, money.
In exchange for the precious resources and comfort the modern world seeks so desperately, we are forced to take a silent, unseen, unspoken oath - to renounce our inner warrior spirit, to cede all power and strength to the state, and to accept the loss of our personal, sovereign, God-given right to judge right and wrong in the world how we see fit.
Then, you get the house, car, and money.
Not the worst deal, and you can’t blame people for taking it.
Still, some of us yearn for more. Ancient tablets on the sun-soaked coasts of Yemen lie somewhere yearning to be found, to speak ancient truths. The Spirit of Alexander calls from the grave to us, dusty bones of men who refused to back down, go home, and sit out the fight.
In those days, the dawn broke on truly untreaded ground, hallowed halls and Stonehenges sitting, truly alone, mystic sages from the past without the tourist traps, signs everywhere, rules, cops everywhere, feral midwits roaming around, more rules, vandalism, litter, “company policies”, rules, and disposable plastic trash everywhere.
In those days adventurers strode to the ruins of the Colossus at Rhodes and marveled at them! In those days men fought not for oil barons, nor corporate profits, nor fat cat shareholders and suit-wearing pigs - they fought for dignity, for honor, and the right to prosecute their own affairs as they see fit!
In those days, if you didn’t have a conviction you felt was worth dying for, even if it was just a true love, you were considered an animal, a subhuman type of beast! If an ancient could jump to a modern person’s mind, the shock of the emptiness inside would send them into an instant heart attack.
People back then would fight and die for their family, their wives and kids, their state, their city, their friends, their religion, or just the moral principles and duties they felt we were obligated to uphold.
People today won’t even fight and die for themselves.
It’s time to begin putting an end to the apathy. Like a stray beast grown too strong, apathy, cynicism, and modern weakness will not die overnight. Slowly it will be taken down, lopped off piece by piece until the human spirit once again ignites into its long-awaited and prophesied cataclysmic ending.
The first step you can take is to set aside your disinterest, your fear, your boredom, your apathy, and your cynicism. Take a leap of faith for something greater than yourself. Will it all come true? Will it happen? Did it ever really even matter?
Like I said, truth is a rare commodity, and he who possesses it should walk closely and carefully guarded, as the universe seeks to destroy all that is beautiful, whole, and true.
That’s why we are going to be discovering our warrior spirits - to protect from the enemies: evil, ignorance, fear, violence, apathy, discouragement, greed, cynicism, anger, recklessness, boredom, etc.
However, in the end, there are only two enemies, and their names are: Entropy, and Satan.
Only a warrior can beat back the night, and bring the calm, peaceful light of day. Only a warrior can rearrange what entropy set aside as forgotten, discarded, and broken. People forget that Jesus was the ultimate warrior - fighting not only Romans and Pharisees, but the laws of physics, entropy, death, time, and ultimately, the universe itself.
You see, there’s two Jesuses:
Just as Jesus undergoes a transformation in the end times, so should the church on Earth undergo a similar spiritual transformation.
The final battle of good and evil will happen, no matter what anyone says. What side will you be on?
Take a look outside. What do you see?
Is everyone’s walking around all happy-go-lucky like a little kid with a brand new bowl of corn flakes?
People at the gas station happy as little clams in the shelter of the Exxon Valdez? Fat, slovenly heathens still slobbering their way down the aisles of WalMart to gaze upon the garish slogans and logos they pollute their minds with?
People still fat and lazy on the intoxicating blood and sweat of the poor, buying nearly-artificial produce for a dollar each, picked by a destitute migrant whose family is being held hostage by the Michoacan avocado cartel?
Is the average hypnotized, brainwashed American still parading around outside in their cheap polyester garbage bags that were sewn by an 8 year-old orphan named Jahnavi who works 10-hour shifts, 6 days a week in a New Delhi slumlord’s sweatshop instead of going to school?
Is a perpetual victory parade to celebrate the triumph of ignorance and apathy, or a bacchanalia worshiping at the altar of consumption and reveling in our own orgiastic self-destruction, still going on outside?
Was any of it ever real? Did any of it ever matter at all? Where do we go from here?
What Is “True Acceptance™”?
What is “Self-Aware, Self-Actualized Christian Stoicism™”?
These terminologies have to do with Wisdom. What is Biblical Wisdom?
The Greek word for “wisdom” in the Bible is Sophia, Strong’s #4678. Many readers are probably familiar with this term. Let’s look at some of the various meanings of Biblical wisdom as interpreted by scholars:
1) wisdom, broad and full of intelligence; used of the knowledge of very diverse matters
2) the wisdom which belongs to men
3) the varied knowledge of things human and divine,
4) the science and learning
5) the act of interpreting dreams
6) the intelligence evinced in discovering the meaning of some mysterious number or vision
7) skill in the management of affairs
8) devout and proper prudence in intercourse with men not disciples of Christ,
You see, knowledge of God and understanding the Scriptures is in there, and is indubiously the highest form of Wisdom. It, after all, begins with the fear of God.
However, when we probe the definitions of this word deeper, we find some other interesting meanings, “knowledge of diverse matters”, “wisdom which belongs to men”, “varied knowledge of things human and divine”, etc. Interestingly, it even specifies that Biblical wisdom can be found in "intercourse with men not disciples of Christ".
This is a point that many online “prophets” and ministries overlook - it’s not enough to just know the Bible front-to-back, you must also have deeper, further knowledge. To truly please God with your wisdom, it must be not only deep, but broad.
So, should we worship Siddhartha? Should we “follow the Tao”? Were the Stoics Christian? Obviously, the answer to all of these questions is, “no”. However, should the Christian be familiar with the little-p proverbs of The Tao? Should the Christian have read Hesse, Kerouac, and Heidegger? Should he be familiar with the eudaimonia of Aristotle, misguided though it is, or the scaffolded gems laid out by the stoics and ascetics, perched high atop pillars in the ruins of the once-wise ancient world?
Yes, I propose that the Christian should have a breadth of knowledge on all these things, should be able and willing to debate anyone, and should be able to bring the full weight of the world’s history and knowledge to usher Christian apologetics into a new Golden Age - the last one that we will ever need, in fact.
Accept the world’s wisdom, take it into consideration, and absorb it, reflect it, and transfigure it into something that glorifies God, serves the Lord Jesus Christ, and helps you succeed and overcome as a person.
The true Christian should be the Von Neumann of Theology, able in the same breath to deliver a discourse on Operation Northwoods, MK Ultra, the Business Plot, Lusitania, World Wars One and Two, the Balfour Declaration, Israel, the Lavon Affair, USS Liberty, Iran-Contra, 9/11, and most importantly, how they all tie together, while simultaneously preaching on Messianic prophecies, Bible Codes, the tried-and-true arguments for God’s existence, and finally, delivering a once-and-for-all meaning of life - the destruction of evil itself, forever, through humanity’s test. This is the ultimate warrior - the warrior of the mind. This is how we preach.
The core of Stoicism is like a rock. In fact, a rock is the perfect visual representation of stoicism. Trying to use Christianity to debunk Stoicism is absurd and futile. Rather, see Stoicism as a useful and surprisingly reactive framework to balance your Christianity with, and to help you keep from reacting needlessly or letting the world drag you down into despair or disbelief.
I’m not going to sit here and lie to you. I’m not going to tell you that I, myself, have reached “True Acceptance™”, or that I live and embody the perfect and fully fleshed-out doctrine of Self-Aware, Self-Actualized Christian Stoicism™.
Witness 2 and I are just humans, after all. As far as I’m concerned, this is all a Google search away, just waiting to be understood on Wikipedia.
I’m not the singularity of knowledge, and I can’t promise that you will discover anything life-changing, or that you will cross thresholds you could never break otherwise. There’s quite possibly no treasure chest at the end of the rainbow here, and that should be OK.
The maxims of the true warrior are:
Strive for the best, prepare for the worst. Now, I’m also not going to not tell you that there will be a life-changing, dramatic, epiphanic, open-the-treasure-chest-and-shout-for-glory-moment for you right now, reading this site. Maybe it will. - it's happened before, as told by the people who often email us, and it will certainly happen again. Who knows, maybe today can be your turn.
What I can tell you for sure is that I am striving for it every day, and I hope you will join me in this higher calling and purpose. And if nothing else, it’s not like anyone has much else going on these days.
Beat back the apathy! Beat back the cynicism! Beat back the entropy!
