How Do I Show God I Love Him? Message from the Holy Spirit

This is a quick post full of Holy Spirit thoughts, as well as a message from our brother in Christ, Garrett.

The other night I was reading an old children's book full of prayers, all of which I really enjoyed, but one in particular stood out to me.

The other night I was reading an old children's book full of prayers, all of which I really enjoyed, but one in particular stood out to me.

What a beautiful prayer, and I think it exemplifies the verse about becoming like little children to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

So often, we receive emails degrading us, telling us we are "wrong" about things. Often, as these people are telling us how "wrong" we are, they are insulting, degrading, and rude.

Is that how Jesus wants us to be?

Does it matter how intelligent or well-versed we are to God? Not necessarily.

It matters how we treat others - first.

In other words, it doesn't matter if you have faith that moves mountains and can fathom all mysteries if you do not have love. Without love, we are nothing.

What I am getting at is that if you do not FIRST have a childlike understanding of Jesus Christ, then you will never be able to understand the rest. It isn't that the rest doesn't matter, but first, you must be like a child.

If you cannot first be like a child, then you cannot understand Jesus Christ Himself.

You might be thinking, "But how do I be like a child? My innocence has been stolen!"

In this dark, dark world, I understand, but I wanted to tell you how I feel I have become closer to a child again.

1. Prayer - This is obvious, but still, so many do not do it. To help you, I want to post my prayer routine:

Morning: Wake up and pray immediately, even if it is just "Dear Jesus, I love you." Then, when I am a little less groggy, I read one section from a book of the Bible. I go through one book at a time. I started with Psalms this summer and did two Psalms a day, and now I am in Proverbs. Read any book you want, but just go in order. Read one section a day.

Then, I open up my phone to an app called "Color Note." It's free. I have a note called "Prayers." Every time somebody asks me to pray for them, I write down their name and what they need prayers for. As you can imagine, the list gets lengthy, but I do remove things when prayers seem to be answered. So, for example, for Roger, who reads this blog, it says "to become a great man of God." That is part of my daily prayer for him. This can take me 30 minutes or more, but it is worth it and teaches me how to love others. Sometimes I name every single person in our real life ministry (230+ members!)

Then, I have a book of prayers I read through on Amazon Kindle. These are already written, and honestly, if you want to contact me, I will provide you with the links to the books.

Last, I pray for myself and my day. I "burn fire" on any force working against me, and I pray many personal things at this time.

This is the most important part of my day. It sets the tone for the rest. If I do not do this session well, the whole day is not good. I have to wake up earlier to do it, and I take it very seriously.

Praying for others taught me to be like a child. I actually start thinking about others and not just myself.

I learned that God doesn't like when we tell people "I'll pray for you" and we don't. Just write it down, and I'm telling you, this app is perfect to help you remember to pray for others.

Remember, this is just a model. You don't have to do exactly what I do. Find a system that works for you and that pleases God.

Throughout the Day: Now that my most intense prayer is done, I pray every single time I get a break at work. I am working most of the day, but if I am not working, I pray every few hours or just whenever the thought comes up. Sometimes it is every hour. At work, when I have just 5 minutes, I say a quick prayer to God with anything on my mind. Sometimes it is simple, like "Thank you God." Other times it is more complex and related to things I am dealing with throughout the day. Sometimes I have a journal ready to record things God tells me.

In the afternoon, usually at lunch, I spend at least 15 - 30 minutes in deeper prayer, usually praising or thanking God or speaking in tongues. If you want to be anointed with the ability to speak in tongues, contact us.

Evening: I pray before every meal, and I'm pretty much only eating dinner at this point, so that is when I do the evening prayer to break my fast with Witness 1. We pray over our food and ask God to remove all evil from it. In the evening we do a family Bible study and read a section of the Bible together. We started the Bible over again, and we are now in Leviticus. Then, we pray together.

Before bed, I go and pray alone for one more session. I thank God for the day, tell him my worries, and ask him to protect me at night. Really, this is time for anything that comes to mind.

Then, Witness 1 and I say a prayer again before we fall asleep. In a future post, I can model specific prayers I say if anyone is interested.

This is my honest prayer schedule. We run our ministry on Sunday and Wednesday, so that is when we do fellowship and prayer with others.

We are always praying.

Because of my prayer life, I have become like a child, speaking to my Father all day in Heaven through Jesus Christ.

Immersing myself in prayer has made me consider everything and everyone around me at any given moment. It's almost impossible for me to sin because I know I am going to be talking to God soon, and I'll have to face him! Don't get me wrong - I still sin, but it is so much harder now that God is in every part of my life, which leads to my next point.

Sinning Less Through Fasting

This is obvious, but the main effect of me living a life of righteousness has purified me. Sometimes I feel like when I was a little girl, and now I laugh more easily and find things so much more pleasurable.

This was not an easy process to get to, and fasting was a large part of it. In fact, I would even say that fasting helped me conquer 90% of my sins and demons.

I don't know how much more I can tell people the benefit of fasting in this blog. If you are a new reader, please explore the many posts here where fasting is mentioned in nearly everyone.

Through fasting, things that I never thought possible have come out of me. It has made me self-reflect and examine the parts of myself I never wanted to. It definitely has destroyed demons, and my health is so much better.

Because my health is better, I am running and playing like a child again. I am always going, always moving. I have the energy of a child, which Witness 1 can vouch for. It has purified me.

Serving Others

If you are ever around children who haven't been fully corrupted by the world, the truth is, they love helping people. They love doing nice things for others. This is true of children naturally; however, most of us know the world is purposely corrupting and destroying them.

In the prayer above, it says "I'll run and do something for someone." I guarantee if you look around, there is always something to do for someone - even people you dislike. In fact, I make a special note to do nice things for people I don't really personally like that much because I feel that brings me closer to Jesus Christ.

Notice sometimes you have to force yourself to do something nice for someone. It may not feel natural, but the more you do, the more you feel wonderful.

I can vouch that I have made it a goal to go out of my way for someone once a day to please God. I can't believe the people who smile when I give them the random compliment, or the little card I write for them. This is not for me to brag, but it is to tell you ever since I started living this way, I feel younger. I even look younger.

In fact, the other day, when I looked in the mirror, I felt like the fasting and kindness was bringing back my youth (though I'm not very old). It was like, this was the secret all along.

Have you ever heard this poem about beauty?

It may be cliché, but it is true.

So many women have tried to be beautiful through all the worldly tricks, not understanding the type of beauty that starts from within and radiates outward.

So many men have dismissed women that are truly beautiful. Trust me, I have a lot to say about beauty, as it is one of my favorite topics.

Anyway, let us all work on our inward beauty and start serving others. If a child asked you what Jesus Christ was about, what would you say? I would say, "Love God by loving others as yourself." It's that simple.

Time is Short

End of the world or not, we are not guaranteed tomorrow. Life is but a mist. When I'm not praying, I listen to videos like this one to motivate me. Video link.

Please, I am asking you to take ten minutes out of your day and listen to his message.

It is about "numbering your days" and treating every moment like it is the most important of your life. Because it is.

Any of us could die at any moment. We cannot predict our deaths, and only God knows when it is our time.

When you stand before Jesus Christ and He looks into your eyes, what will your soul show him? What did you do for Him?

If you don't know what to do, go back to Step 1: Run and go do something nice for someone!

If you have no one to talk to, write someone a nice message online. There is always something you can do for someone. Always.

Message from Garrett

Soon, I will be writing a post on what I call Modern Soma: Marijuana. Remember, Witness 1 and I are not legalists, and we don't have a list of Dos and Don'ts for people. However, I do think that if you have been considering whether or not your weed use is a problem to God, this may be a sign. While Garrett didn't think his words were eloquent enough, I found them perfect for this post, and he literally emailed me right as I was finishing this up!

While I will be writing something more on marijuana coming soon, I thought this was a great prelude to what's coming.

I want to raise awareness on the importance of dreams, where they come from, and how to have them. More specifically, I'd like to link you to a source I found that directly links cannabis use and sedative use to increased levels of psychosis. It's dragging people away from God, and it is a direct tool being used en masse to destroy the will of the common man.

We all know that sleep is necessary, but did you know that smoking weed directly prohibits your brain from engaging in REM sleep? That's when we are having dreams. Just like a sedative, weed completely destroys the receptors in your brain that slow adrenaline and allow your brain the ability to reset and give you potentially life changing dreams.

I will link this video I found just to give you an idea. I know science is a bit of a touchy subject, but I feel like when it comes to something like this, it's better to be on the side of caution rather than the side that destroys your brain.

All of my dreams got more vivid when I stopped smoking pot. In fact, when I smoked, I didn't even have dreams. This led to my eventual episode (Garrett has escaped many demons!) I'm finding out more and more about pot every single day, and the more I find out, the more I think it is truly something that causes one to lose touch of their spirituality and faith, as well as their active consciousness.

All I want is for people to come to God. I pray you understand. Video link.\

Garrett is right about the importance of dreams, and if you are blocking them from God in any way, you might be missing some extremely important messages. For me, I used to drink, which led to demons attacking me in my dreams.

Thank you, Garrett, for the inspiration, as I will also have to write another post on dreams.

In prayer the other day, God told me I would be very busy the rest of my life - He would give me rest when needed, but I would be a very busy women.

I believe it. I feel like there is never enough time in the day to serve God.

Time is short, everyone.

Get ready and get your garments clean. This isn't a drill!

God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ,

- Witness 2
