The Anti-Christ Christmas "Spirit": Let's Celebrate Differently

This post will call us to reflect on what we are really celebrating when we participate in the worldly version of Christmas. This is a call to celebrate differently this year by following Jesus Christ and having a spirit of generosity and love - not materialism and self-obsession. Also, thank you to "nobody" for your recent donation!

Introduction

Growing up, I lived in a relatively wealthy area. My friends were rich, and I went to a nice school and lived in a nice community. I remember my friend took a picture of all of her Christmas presents one year, and they filled her entire bedroom. She brought it to school, bragging, and while I wasn't jealous, I found it strange. Remember, I was not Christian at this time, but something was unsettling about it.

Later in my life, my family moved to an area in complete contrast to where I grew up. This forever changed me and who I would become, as I spent many of my years finally understanding poverty and possibility of not having money for the next meal.

I believe God allowed me to live both of these lives so that I would envy neither but understand both. I do not envy the rich, and I do not envy the poor. Both have problems, but I would say the rich have more problems than the poor, and this is well-documented in the Bible. I am not glamourizing the poor, as our ministry has taught me that anyone can serve money as a God - no matter how much money they have.

For the purpose of this post, however, I would like you to consider that if you are celebrating Christmas this year in the first world, you are wealthier than most of the world. Even if you are in debt, you are still better off than most of the world.

Reflecting on Christmas, my parents revealed to me immediately (probably about 3 or 4) that Santa was not real. I was not hurt at all. I was, in fact, happy to know and still glad they bought me presents. I even liked that my parents would let me pick out my own presents since Santa wasn't real.

Isn't it strange to anyone that Christmas starts with a lie from an early age? This holiday depends on the lie of Santa Clause being real for many.

I know the critique I will get:

  • It's just for fun.
  • Lighten up.
  • It's just an innocent lie.

The reason I brought up my childhood is I believe NOT believing the lie helped me. From an early age, my parents actually taught me a good lesson: adults can and do lie to children. It also helped me see myself as more mature, as my parents trusted me to be able to handle that information. It didn't hurt me in any way, and if anything, it opened me up to the possibility that lies exist in the world.

So, this is not just some innocent lie, and saying that is something Satan would say. The Bible says we are not to lie, whether that be small or big lies. We have all lied, there's no doubt about that, but I have found my life so much more freeing when I have stopped lying.

Let me give you a recent example.

At work somebody asked me why I never eat lunch. To fit in the world, I usually used to make up some lie like "I already ate" or "I don't feel good." I finally just said, "I fast for spiritual and physical reasons."

That was it. They were surprised and didn't know what to say. I felt refreshed not having to lie anymore.

Recently, my husband's family came to visit. They said, "I hope you aren't doing any of that dangerous writing anymore." I said, "We still are."

Haha. I didn't lie. I didn't necessarily tell her what we were doing, but I didn't lie.

Remember, we don't have to reveal everything to everyone - that is NOT lying. However, we can give truth or even tell people, "I don't really want to discuss this."

It is empowering. I know in this Satanic world it is hard not to lie, but I am motivating everyone reading to stop telling these small lies and start just living truthfully. It's really freeing! Of course, be wise - don't be foolish. Always pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you in what to say.

So, what is the point I am getting at with this? Christmas is based, inherently, on a lie that most participate in and tell children. In fact, when children find out Santa is not real, it is quite traumatizing. People can laugh, but this is a type of trauma people are placing on their kids, with the message, "It's okay to lie for fun." Are we really so surprised people accept other lies later in life when they easily believe a lie like Santa?

Now this post is not saying you cannot celebrate Christmas. This post, rather, is calling you to celebrate Christmas differently this year, with some suggestions on how. like stopping the lie of Santa Clause. (By the way, I now realize it is Santa Claus, but I used it wrong throughout this post, so I apologize!)

I am not a legalist. I don't like when people say "You can do this" and "You can't do that." We have freedom in Jesus Christ, and we must ask Him honestly what we should and should not do. It is not freedom to do anything because not everything is beneficial. For this post, however, I'd like you to consider the "anti-Christ" spirit that flows through Christmas and urge you to stop worshipping this spirit during this season. Let us praise and worship Jesus Christ like never before this season! Let's reinvent Christmas.

The Anti-Christ Christmas Spirit

Last night Witness 1 and I watched Elf. I don't know why, but we both enjoyed analyzing it.

The main message of the movie is that the "Christmas Spirit" was needed for "belief" in Santa Claus.

Let's break this down.

The movie made a very convincing case that one should believe in Santa Claus to revive the "Christmas Spirit."

Truthfully, this "Christmas Spirit" is the anti-Christ spirit. It is actually disgusting and why so many hate the holiday season. They don't know why - they can't understand it, but they hate it because this season and spirit is without love.

As explained in the above chart, the holiday season is about gluttony, materialism, gifts, partying, drunkenness (or getting high), envy, etc. This is literally the anti-Christ spirit, and it is being idolized and worshipped during this time!

Let me give you a simple example. Every year at work they ask me to participate in Secret Santa. I always have in the past because I wanted to fit in and didn't want to look strange.

Each year I participated, and I hated it! I never could figure out what people wanted, and people would say "don't spend more than $5 per gift" but then spend hundreds of dollars, which made me look bad. One year, I bought this beautiful coat for the final prize and the woman asked for a return receipt. A few years ago I spent so much extra money on gifts that I didn't have, never to even get a thank you. I finally told myself, "I will never participate in this Satanic celebration again."

Why? It didn't promote anything holy. It made everyone stressed, spend extra money they didn't have, and people gossipped and even laughed at people who didn't get good gifts. It is honestly disgusting.

I am sure there are so many examples readers can provide, as well, regarding these forced festivities. Please feel free to email me. I'd love to make a compilation post on people's disgust with this evil Satanic spirit.

So, this year, I ask you, which Christmas are you celebrating? Are you celebrating the one that shows the love of Jesus Christ or the one that focuses on the spirit of Mammon?

This godless spirit has taken over for many, many years, and I don't know the last time Christmas has been about Jesus Christ. If you and your family still honor Jesus Christ, wonderful, but if you are looking for different ways to celebrate this year, I have some suggestions.

Learn to Say "No" - Celebrating Christmas for Christ

Another thing I noticed about Christmas is how manipulative it can become. I kept participating in Secret Santa because people would repeatedly ask even after I said, "No." They would go, "Are you sure?" Remember, manipulation is a form of witchcraft. This verse has helped me a lot:

  • 37 Let your yes mean yes, and your no mean no. Anything more than this comes from the evil one.

Set boundaries with people this Christmas. You don't have to participate in anything you don't want to, and if people ask why, have an answer prepared from the Holy Spirit.

Recently I told someone, "I feel wrong having lavish decorations this year. I feel like I can celebrate Christ in a simple way."

I used to have the most beautiful decorations and most wonderful tree. I gave it all away this year. I know the tree is a pagan symbol, and it just made me feel guilty having it. Again, I am not a legalist, but how can lightness and dark work together? They can't.

I'm not saying you cannot decorate, but why not decorate with beautiful lights or angels instead of some strange tree? It's a suggestion - I won't condemn you if you keep the tree, but do you need to? Consider that they consider it as your worship of their gods:

Here are some other suggestions:

1) Spend some time in fasting instead of gluttony. We will be doing a fast next week - perhaps you can join us. I will write more about that later. Pray and fast!

2) Set boundaries and limits on your budget. Stop trying to "one up" others and keep your gifts simple and to the point. Learn to say "no". Remember envy is a sin.

3) Consider helping the poor. Pray and ask God how you can help others this season. If you seriously do not know who or how to help, please donate to this ministry. 4) Find a way to honor Jesus Christ every single day. Preach, read the Bible with your children and family, forgive the family member you hate, sing praises, etc. Make every day about Him in some way, shape, or form. Give thanks!

5) Simplify. You don't need to live up to what you did last year or what your families did when you were growing up. Make new traditions. Eliminate expensive traditions. Let go of the worldly ways of celebration. I threw out my Christmas tree and decorations, and I made more room for love, as corny as it sounds.

Witness 1 and I will read the Bible and sing songs with our family this Christmas. We will give simple gifts, and we will tithe to the poor generously through our ministry work. We will pray and worship, and we will go on a walk and we will hold hands. We will honor Jesus Christ this holiday season, and we won't worry about posting pictures on social media or doing anything we don't want to do. We are free from all of that! Thank the Lord Jesus Christ!

So, this Christmas, let us have the Holy Spirit not the "Christmas" Spirit of Satan. Let us pray.

Dear Father in Heaven,

Please let me, Witness 1, and readers worship you this season in a way that glorifies you in the name of Jesus Christ. Help readers have the courage to break out of worldly traditions and idols and serve you this season. Jesus, we know you probably weren't born on Christmas, but we will still honor your birth this season and every day in Jesus's name. Thank you for dying on the cross for us and all the blessings you have given us in Jesus's name!

Conclusion: Update on Our Ministry Work

None of the following is to brag. I wanted to update for people who do give to us so they know where their money is going. If you have donated, the following thanks and testimonies are for you!

I believe that accountability and authenticity are extremely important when working for Jesus Christ. None of this glory is for us. We give ALL glory to Jesus Christ for allowing us to do this work.

If people don't know if they should donate to us, I included some tesitmonies from our ministry. These are real testimonies, so this is ust a reminder there are language barriers as most of our members are from other countries. We have over 300 members now from countries all over the world.

I guess what we can say is that our ministry truly glorifies Jesus Christ, and your money would not be in vain. Thank you for even considering us! Who knows - one day you all may be a real life part of it. The message I'm getting from God is that this ministry is NOT over.

  • Praise God, hopefully the grace of God is keeping each one of us well. I am so grateful to be part of this ministry.
