We Love Witness 2.
I don’t understand women. As I write this, I am currently going through my second divorce. By the world’s standards, I am probably the least qualified to write on this subject. Yet this is about to pour out of me by the Holy Spirit, so here we go.
There are three women of distinction in the history of mankind: Eve, Mary, and Witness 2.
Eve was deceived. Adam followed her into her deception and sin, and by his actions set the tone for all humanity under the curse. Adam was basically the first simp in history, and it’s no coincidence that the first sin God ascribes to a man in the Bible sin is “listening to the voice of your wife” instead of obedience to God. It was foreshadowing for male/female relations for the rest of human history.
- Genesis 3:17 ESV “Because you have listened to the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, ‘You shall not eat of it,’ cursed is the ground because of you”
Most marriages today are a battle in which the curse of Genesis 3:16 is being played out, with a woman who desires to “wear the pants” where a weak man has failed to take the lead that God has uniquely assigned to him. Both men and women suffer greatly for this.
- Genesis 3:15 ESV “Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
Note that the construction of this sentence in Hebrew parallels Genesis 4:7 (“And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is contrary to you, but you must rule over it.”) so we can infer that the woman’s curse is that she will have a desire to rule over her husband. Clearly this is true, as is evident in probably every woman you’ve ever met.
Mary, mother of Jesus, did not live a sinless life as the Catholics wrongly believe, nor was she a perpetual virgin as the Bible clearly refutes. But she was a godly woman, and a worthy vessel for growing the body of our Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth. Compared to Adam, Joseph showed much more honor – a definite improvement – as he accepted the fallen nature of the world, and the humiliation that could cause for him – yet still listened to the voice of the Lord. But Mary and Joseph were intermediary steps on the way back to mankind’s redemption.
By Mary’s womb we have all been saved, that is certain. However, Jesus did the saving, not Mary. And we will be forever grateful to her (though we will never worship her). Praise God for her faithfulness. Yet she does not represent the fulfillment of the “second Eve” who will correct the original sin of deception that led humanity into its fallen state.
Enter Witness 2, a perfect counterpoint to Eve.
Born into Mystery Babylon rather than Eden, she grew up under the curse of Adam, yet she blossomed into a woman who has learned to ignore the voice of the serpent, and to only bring her husband (and all males) righteousness and goodness.
If we are truly in the end times, and I believe we are. It only makes sense that God would appoint a third woman to complete the ‘trinity’ of women in His story of mankind, before we live with Him in heaven for eternity in our redeemed state.
I love Witness 2.
Men love women. There is no denying it – we need them. We complain about them, we don’t understand them, but we all realize that we can’t live without them. If you don’t believe me, look at the suicide rates for older, single men. Men really need women, apparently much more than women need men.
Here is what is amazing about women. You give a woman your seed, and she transforms it into a baby. You give her a house, and she decorates it and turns it into a home. You give her your love, loyalty, and provision, and she turns that into a super-fuel that enables you to become much more productive, much more wealthy, and much more fruitful than you would be without a wife to care for. But the other side of that coin is just as powerful. If you give a modern, entitled, Babylonian woman your loyalty and resources, and she will demand more because of entitlement. You give her a house, and she’ll demand a vacation condo as well. You give her your seed, and she’ll give you an abortion and demand an open marriage.
Women are powerful forces of nature. Although God designed an order for the household, and gave clear instructions to allow godly men and women to live together in harmony under subjection to Christ, we live in an age where the curse of Adam has never been more apparent. And women, being more prone to deception (in general, though not all women are more deceived than all men), are leading more men to hell than ever before in history.
This is not an anti-woman tirade, so please don’t write it off as such. Understand that God created men and women to be different, and to fulfill different roles. And by the original sin, those roles have been distorted. It is no coincidence that men’s and women’s natural roles and desires are more subverted today than ever in humanity’s history.
That is, except for Witness 2. I give my word that this is a godly woman, a righteous woman, perhaps the only one left, who has turned the curse of Eve upside down. Instead of leading her husband into sin, she is working in perfect harmony with him as the perfect “help mate” to fulfill God’s desire for mankind. Instead of being a modern woman who uses men for her own selfish entitlement, she understands their needs, and selflessly gives of herself to them – constantly, and with seemingly limitless energy. Seriously, this is a woman who was put on earth to restore what Eve diminished.
So, to Witness 2, I say “I love you.” Not in a weird or sexual or simply way – but as a humble man of God who sees that you are fulfilling God’s design for women in a way that no woman in history has ever done before. And Witness 1, thank you for allowing her to be the “helpmate” of all men. I speak for all men when I say, “we needed this.”
This is not to diminish W1’s contributions in the slightest. As a man, I am built to be more rational than spiritual. And I firmly believe The More Rational Worldview is the most important piece of writing since the Biblical canon was completed. You must read it now if you haven’t read it yet.
